I'm not a huge fan of sushi, but with enough ginger and a little wasabi, I enjoyed the samples we had at the end of the demonstration. đŸ˜‹
Since I had my camera, I walked around the ship and snapped a few photos. For the first time in our 2 week cruise, it was warm enough that people were enjoying the pool area.
I stopped to check out the progress of the shuffleboard tournament, and saw this man practicing with some sort of "top" thingie nearby on the basketball court.
Of course Bob had to take a break from the shuffleboard to check it out.
We DID know about the ice cream station in the Garden Cafe that served hard ice cream. I also learned early in the cruise that there was always a pan of some type of warm dessert sitting on this counter that went very well with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. My favorite? Warm bread pudding. Mmmmmm.
Part of the afternoon was spent doing the dreaded job of packing. I sent Bob out to the balcony to get out of my way, but he kept yelling, "come look at this" so progress was slow. About the time we were getting ready for dinner the ship sailed into thick fog. So disappointing because now that it was getting warmer, we were looking forward to some balcony time in the evening.
The two main dining rooms on the Sun had identical menus each night. The Four Seasons was the more casual of the two and the Seven Seas slightly more formal (but not by much!) Since we weren't rushing to get to dinner after being in port, we cleaned up a bit and ate at the Seven Seas.
Forty years ago these two guys were college roommates...and still friends today!
What a difference a couple of hours made! Blue skies and NO fog!!
It wasn't exactly warm, but we weren't freezing!
We kept seeing porpoises jumping in the water and I was getting frustrated trying to photograph or video them because you never knew when or where they were going to pop up! THEN...I looked straight down off the balcony and there was a porpoise swimming right alongside the ship. It was amazing to see how fast he could go!
This is the reason we splurged and got a balcony stateroom. We could sit and enjoy the view from the privacy of our own cabin!
I love lighthouses!!!
A boat and a spare.
We passed fairly close to one small town and while we were looking through our binoculars, these people were looking right back at us!!
Who is looking at who?
It looked like quite an interesting place with all of the buildings along the edge of the water. Several buildings were decorated with native art and there were totem poles scattered about through the whole town.
Can you imagine having these mountains in your back yard? Not me. We live on the prairie where everything is FLAT.
The sun dropped lower and lower in the sky and eventually set behind the mountains.
Such a beautiful evening. Tomorrow would be the last full day of the cruise...and also a very special day for Bob and I!
